In August 2016, Morten Priisholm won the talent competition Brand New at the Copenhagen Watch and Jewellery Show in Denmark, for an impressive, large steampunk inspired signet ring. The motivation for choosing Morten Priisholm as the winner was based on criteria of innovation, commercial potential and X factor. His combination of traditional craftsmanship with new techniques and materials in a daring masculine language of men’s jewelry was highlighted by the competition’s jury.

The signet ring, with which Morten Priisholm won the competition, is made of silver with watch cog wheels of 14 karat gold, an emerald-cut garnet, 0.03 carats of green diamonds and 0.02 carats of champagne-colored diamonds. “The very first piece of men’s jewelry , I made, was set with a garnet, and when I got the opportunity to buy the spare parts of a watchmaker a few years back, I always wanted to combine the two worlds”, said Morten Priisholm from the podium, when accepting his award.
